Three Days of Prayer in Haiti
Wow. Thanks to a sister who sent me a clip of this event. See how those who are heartbroken and have lost everything come together to seek the Lord. And their president joined them!
Let's keep praying for our nation that even on the highest levels
we will seek the Lord with humble hearts.

Whiter than snow
Day after day of record-setting snowfalls makes you think, doesn't it? I've heard it called "snowmaggedon" and "snow-pocyliptic." Snow reminds me of the well-known Psalm 51. David, tormented by his mistakes, threw himself at God's mercy. With the help of Nathan the prophet and the Holy Spirit, he understood what a horrible thing he had done. He had sent a faithful soldier to certain death in order to steal his wife. Realizing his wickedness, he did not cower. Some kings would have killed the prophet who dared accuse him. Some kings would have murdered anyone who knew of the plan. But David, stricken with godly sorrow, only cared that he had betrayed the God who loved him. So he did what is most difficult for kings. He humbled himself. He begged for mercy, expecting mercy. He begged for forgiveness and knew that he would be restored. "Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." (Psalm 51: 7). What is whiter? What is purer? What a wonderful and perfect forgiveness the Lord offers us.

First Church made me feel loved!
Wow. Nancy at the First Church Bookstore has been so kind to me and I know lots of homeschool moms who attend there who are great people... but still... First Church surprised me. They were so warm and friendly. I sold plenty of books and had lots of nice conversation.
If you visit First Church -- don't miss the coffee. My sister-friend Jennifer runs the coffee bar in the atrium and she made me the best mocha raspberry latte I've ever had. Yeah Jennifer! She's not only an extraordinary latte-maker, baker and homeschool mom. She's also writes and started her own ministry MFAD (Marriage from a Distance Mom's Group) which has an online community AND she blogs on Proverbs 31. Are you tired yet? Yes, she's bouncy, loves Jesus, and never stops moving.

FREE chapter of Love Revival
Now you can download a free chapter. One of my favorites, it deals with the third day miracle: When Help Comes Too Late. Mary, Martha and Lazarus experienced the love of Jesus in a very special way. If things seem impossible, if it seems that Jesus didn't show up when you really needed Him, you definitely want to read this chapter. Click HERE to download.
If it whets your appetite to read the rest of the book you can order online HERE or come see me. I have an upcoming book signing. See events.

You make veggies taste better than steak!
This spring I'm trying to read a proverb a day with my six year old daughter. I open up to the proverb that corresponds to the day and choose a verse. Oops, now you'll know that it took me a few days to write this one down. But, it was a precious moment, worth sharing. Snuggled on the couch together inside of a comforter we read this:
A bowl of vegetables with someone you love
is better than steak with someone you hate. (Prov 15:17 nlt)
Now, we are both carnivores and love hamburgers, sausage, chicken... any kind of meat. But steak over vegetables? I know, FIVE ALIVE, we need five servings of fruits and veggies every day... but Steak is great! When I looked into her eyes and said "I want you to know something," she was still.
"If I had to choose between eating steak at a fancy restaurant or having a bowl of vegetable soup with you -- I choose you."
"If I had to sit on the floor to eat that soup, just being with you would make it great."
We gave big hugs and she told me that I made soup great too.
Of course, if someone we love took us out to a steakhouse that would be really great! Hint! Hint!
