Day after day of record-setting snowfalls makes you think, doesn't it? I've heard it called "snowmaggedon" and "snow-pocyliptic." Snow reminds me of the well-known Psalm 51. David, tormented by his mistakes, threw himself at God's mercy. With the help of Nathan the prophet and the Holy Spirit, he understood what a horrible thing he had done. He had sent a faithful soldier to certain death in order to steal his wife. Realizing his wickedness, he did not cower. Some kings would have killed the prophet who dared accuse him. Some kings would have murdered anyone who knew of the plan. But David, stricken with godly sorrow, only cared that he had betrayed the God who loved him. So he did what is most difficult for kings. He humbled himself. He begged for mercy, expecting mercy. He begged for forgiveness and knew that he would be restored. "Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." (Psalm 51: 7). What is whiter? What is purer? What a wonderful and perfect forgiveness the Lord offers us.

First Church made me feel loved!
Wow. Nancy at the First Church Bookstore has been so kind to me and I know lots of homeschool moms who attend there who are great people... but still... First Church surprised me. They were so warm and friendly. I sold plenty of books and had lots of nice conversation.
If you visit First Church -- don't miss the coffee. My sister-friend Jennifer runs the coffee bar in the atrium and she made me the best mocha raspberry latte I've ever had. Yeah Jennifer! She's not only an extraordinary latte-maker, baker and homeschool mom. She's also writes and started her own ministry MFAD (Marriage from a Distance Mom's Group) which has an online community AND she blogs on Proverbs 31. Are you tired yet? Yes, she's bouncy, loves Jesus, and never stops moving.
